Can a poet write verse in a time of civil war?

...given that propaganda is best suited for prose writers & prose minds?

In all honesty, I don’t know how to handle politics on social media. I first encountered the dilemma when I went back for my MFA. The other students, professors, ‘professional’ (more professorial) poets were all on Facebook, so I started on FB to network with poets, colleagues & family.

But the nuttiest leftists that serious scholars had tried to dismiss a quarter century before were in charge of the schools. Propaganda earlier generations had the intelligence, sense & sensibility, and education to write off was being taught as incontestable moral certainty.
